“Mesmerised by magical projections”, “a scene straight out of Harry Potter" - when ‘Botanica’ opened to the public, it was amazing to hear the gasps and see people lay down on the floor of the Rotunda Library at the National Gallery Singapore to watch the projections over and over (apparently this has never happened before!).
The piece consists of a series of animated books and a large dome projection contemplating the elusive life of flowers through macroscopic time lapses.
Botanica was commissioned by Light to Night Festival 2023 and is part of Singapore Art Week. It will run until the 26th of January 2023.
This project has been such a treat and we feel so honoured to have been approached by the National Gallery of Singapore to create this piece.
